Globally, it is estimated that by 2030 we will face a 40% water deficit. In this dire scenario, Chile is among the 30 countries most affected by drought and ranks first in Latin America. In this context, the Chilean-Latin American platform "Mujer Sustentable" (Sustainable Woman) invites the community to participate in a discussion and analysis of the urgent need to take action to address the water scarcity crisis we are experiencing and the role that all sectors of society should play in confronting this serious problem.
The “Sustainable Women Meeting: Water Scarcity” will take place on Tuesday, March 22 at 11 a.m., within the framework of International Water Day, a date that aims to raise awareness about the global water crisis and the need to find measures to address it so that we can achieve Sustainable Development Goal No. 6: ensure availability, sustainable management of water and sanitation for all people by 2030.
During the event, Cata Droguett , founder of “Mujer Sustentable” and an international authority on socio-environmental issues, will speak with a panel composed of Soledad Teixidó, founder and Executive President of Fundación PROhumana; Diego Riveaux, Director of Sustainability and Innovation of the Municipality of Vitacura; Constanza Barros, Innovation Executive and Leader of the Water Scarcity and Climate Change Challenge of the Agrarian Innovation Foundation (FIA); and Pablo Cassorla, Founder and CEO of Remotes Waters, a Chilean start-up whose technology allows for the purification of water with solar energy for rural communities with limited or no access to this vital resource.
