In a world where access to clean water is a major global challenge, a Chilean startup is making a difference through local innovation. Remote Waters, a technology company founded in Algarrobo in 2018, develops rapidly installable water purification systems that are already improving the quality of life for communities with limited access to this vital resource.
The initiative, which began as a family project, now has an international presence and includes more than 20 projects implemented in three countries. Its model combines design, integration, installation, and maintenance of solutions designed for places where drinking water is scarce.
“Clean and safe water should be a right, not a privilege. Our goal is to bring technology to those who need it most in a practical and environmentally friendly way,” says Pablo Cassorla, CEO and founder of Remote Waters.
Recognition in the northern ecosystem
One of the company's most recent milestones was its participation in Aster Demo , a program organized by the Aster accelerator in Antofagasta, backed by Escondida | BHP. Remote Waters was one of the winning startups, receiving US$20,000 in funding to continue its expansion.
“Aster’s support not only validates our work, but also provides us with the tools and networks necessary to scale up. Furthermore, it allows us to contribute in the north of the country, helping the mining industry reduce its water footprint and replace water trucks with more sustainable reuse solutions,” Cassorla adds.
Projections
Remote Waters already works with suppliers in the northern region and plans to extend its franchise model to other countries, in addition to opening new lines of business such as water audit consulting and solutions for real estate projects.
With this new boost, the startup reaffirms its purpose: to transform the way communities and businesses access drinking water, at a time when water scarcity demands concrete and scalable solutions.
