Chilean startup Remote Waters leads the way in drinking water solutions

The technology company, born in Algarrobo, was one of the winners of Aster Demo 2025 and obtained funding to scale its drinking water purification systems, a key innovation in the face of growing water scarcity.

In a global landscape marked by water scarcity and the growing challenge of access to clean water , the Chilean startup Remote Waters is establishing itself as one of the country's most promising solutions. Founded in 2018 in Algarrobo, the company was recently recognized as one of the winners of Aster Demo 2025 , securing US$20,000 in funding to further expand its water purification technology in vulnerable communities.

Remote Waters began as a family project and today operates as an international company specializing in the design, integration, installation, and maintenance of rapidly deployable water purification systems . Its objective is clear: to provide clean and safe water to communities with limited access to this vital resource.

Initially supported by a CORFO seed fund, the company has executed more than 20 projects and expanded its operations to three countries , consolidating a practical, sustainable technological model adaptable to multiple territorial realities.

“At Remote Waters, our mission is to bring clean, safe water to those who need it most. We develop solutions that are easy to install and operate because we understand that technology must be practical and environmentally friendly. Seeing the impact on vulnerable communities motivates us to continue innovating,” says Pablo Cassorla , CEO and founder.

Contribution from the north: the boost from Aster and Escondida | BHP

A key player in Remote Waters' growth has been the Antofagasta-based accelerator Aster , backed by Escondida | BHP . As part of its portfolio, the startup participated in the Aster Demo program , where it was one of six finalists and ultimately one of the winners of additional funding.

“Aster’s support validates our work and gives us the boost we needed to take our impact to the next level. Furthermore, the collaboration with stakeholders in the ecosystem allows us to connect better and learn. Thanks to this, we will be able to contribute to communities in the north, helping to reduce the water footprint of mining operations through reuse solutions and the replacement of water trucks,” says Cassorla.

Next steps: international expansion and new services

Remote Waters plans to expand its regional presence and franchise into new countries. With suppliers already established in the northern region, the company is targeting real estate development projects , as well as extending its services to include water audit consulting , supporting organizations in identifying and addressing their water consumption and availability challenges.
