The technology company Remote Waters, conceived in Algarrobo, was one of the winners of the most recent Aster Demo, from the Aster accelerator, receiving a significant financial incentive to continue its revolution in access to drinking water.
Globally, water has become a scarce commodity, and access to it is increasingly critical. In this context, solutions like that of the startup Remote Waters stand out as an exemplary case.
Founded in 2018 in the town of Algarrobo, this solution has evolved from a family project to an international company specializing in the design, integration, installation and maintenance of fast-installation water purification systems for communities with limited access to this vital resource.
The company was established thanks to the support of a CORFO seed fund, and to date, it has experienced significant growth, with the execution of more than 20 projects and expanding its operations to three countries.
"At Remote Waters, our mission is to bring clean and safe water to those who need it most. To achieve this, we develop purification systems that are easy to install and operate, because we understand that technology must be practical and environmentally friendly. Seeing how our technology is positively impacting communities with limited access to drinking water motivates us to continue innovating and expanding our reach," says Pablo Cassorla, CEO and founder of Remote Waters.
Northern support
A key supporter in the startup's development has been the Antofagasta-based accelerator Aster, which is backed by Escondida | BHP. As part of its portfolio, they participated in the recent " Aster Demo" program, where Remote Waters stood out among six finalist startups, securing an additional US$20,000 in funding as one of the winners.
"The support we've received from Aster not only validates our work, but also gives us the boost we needed to take our impact to the next level, allowing us to scale our operations. In addition, the guidance they provide us with key players in the ecosystem helps us connect more effectively and continue learning. Thanks to this, we can contribute to communities in the northern region through mining companies, giving them the opportunity to reduce their water footprint by reusing water in their camps and operations, replacing water trucks," says Pablo Cassorla, Founder and CEO of Remote Waters.
Looking ahead, Remote Waters plans to expand its franchise to other countries. "We already have suppliers in the northern region, so our idea is to expand into real estate development and broaden our services to include water audit consulting, to help them address their specific problems," concludes the startup's founder.
