Remote Waters offers innovative water purification solutions, improving health in communities with limited access to clean drinking water.
SQM Lithium Ventures has invested US$200,000 in Remote Waters, a startup developing water purification technology that makes it suitable for drinking, agriculture, and industry. This funding, part of its Corporate Acceleration Program, reflects recognition of Remote Waters' innovative approach. This Chilean firm, which was featured at COP28 in Dubai and supported by CORFO and Start-Up Chile, continues its upward trajectory in environmental solutions.
This is Remote Waters, which was created to solve the problems of contaminated water, and turn it into a useful product for drinking, agricultural or industrial use.
“The relationship with SQM Lithium began through the “More Lithium Less Footprint” competition, with the first pilot project to purify water for hydroponics and agriculture in the desert, a place where it wasn't possible due to the quality of this element. Then we participated in the First Generation of SQM Lithium Ventures' Corporate Acceleration program, which is very selective and has a global reach,” said Pablo Cassorla, CEO of Remote Waters.
The WHO indicates that 4% of global deaths and 6% of all diseases are related to the consumption of unsafe water. Remote Waters develops and maintains purification systems to provide drinking water to communities that lack access to safe sources, thus contributing to improved public health and the prevention of waterborne diseases.
